1999 Brunello di Montalcino

Saturated ruby-red. Inky aromas of cassis, menthol and oak. Dense and musclebound on the palate, with somewhat gritty, medicinal flavors of cassis, black cherry and menthol. Offers some aromatic interest in the mouth, but the wine's fruit seems distinctly dry. Finishes with slightly tough tannins and modest length.
