Note di degustazione
(bottled two weeks before my visit) Orange oil, smoke and spices on the nose, plus a whiff of pineapple. Combines an almost exotic sweetness with penetrating minerality, coming across as more taut than usual for this cuvee The intense orange oil flavor carries through in the mouth. Plenty of tension here, but I find this very promising wine a tad disorganized today and in need of at least a few years of bottle aging.

Slightly muted aromas of pineapple, orange juice and spicy, vanillin oak. Dense and spicy, with bracing peachy acidity framing the wine's fat, extract-rich fruit. Chewy and still a bit youthfully aggressive. "This still needs some work on the finish," says Latour, who believes that further elevage will bring more harmony to his young 2008s, which he does not plan to bottle until March of next year. "The wines have excellent richness and potential; we just need to refine and enrich them, to purify them," he added.
