2008 Chassagne Montrachet

Lightly sweet and smoky. Rather a creamy texture with lemon zest notes. Dry, grainy finish. Nothing to object to even if not thrilling. A very competent village wine. Also tasted 11 Jan 2010. Score 16. Drink 2012-15: Rather dull and muted on the nose. Then clean enough but with very marked acidity. Masses of lime-juice character without quite enough flesh to compensate. Hard finish. (JR)
