A beautiful effort, the 2024 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse reveals cassis, darker berries, graphite, spicy oak, and violet aromas. Medium to full-bodied, round, and beautifully balanced, it shows integrated oak and outstanding length. This has terrific purity and will easily be outstanding.

Offering up discreet aromas of red berry fruit and new oak, the 2024 Grand-Puy-Ducasse is medium-bodied, firm and compact.
Impactful aromatics of cocoa bean, coffee, grilled raspberry, this is carefully constructed, unfussy fruits that skirt full ripeness but has balance and character. 35% new oak, 43 hl/ha yield. New cellar now fully open.
The 2024 Grand-Puy Ducasse is gorgeous. Dark and resonant on the palate, the Grand Vin is endowed with terrific depth from start to finish. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, spice and new leather are all amplified, with a kick of French oak that wraps it all together. Technical Director Anne Le Naour found a way to give the 2024 ample textural richness without distorting the wine. This is impeccably done. Tasted three times.

The 40 hectares of this Pauillac Fifth Growth are spread across three sites, pieced together in the 18th century by Pierre Ducasse. Today owned by France’s Crédit Agricole bank, they have some very fine vineyard land, with their northernmost plot neighbouring Mouton and Lafite.
