The 2022 Sangiovese Perlato Del Bosco is all Sangiovese and pours a a bright medium red color. It is high-density planted vines behind the winery at 9000 plants per hectare to forec the roots to go deep down into the volcanic rocks and results in small bunches. One year in large 23 Hl botti. It has a fantastic pure and floral nose, with aromas of fresh cherries, rocky earth, pressed flowers and . Medium-bodied it has ripe tannins, a chalky texture, and even acidity. It floats away gently and has a beautiful finish. It is a beautiful wine with a lot of elegance and balance. Drink 2025-2035.

This is Tua Rita's historic Sangiovese that was first introduced to the market in 1992. Jumping forward 30 years, the 2022 Perlato del Bosco offers a tight embroidery of forest berry aromas with wild strawberry, blueberry, blood orange and blue flower. The wine is aged in large oak casks for one year. With time, it reveals an earthy sensation and rusty nail over a medium-bodied close. You also get nice freshness that sets this food-friendly red up for a pairing with pasta and extra grated Parmigiano cheese.
The 2022 Perlato del Bosco shows all the natural richness of this low-yielding year in its textural depth and plush, enveloping contours. Black cherry, cedar, tobacco and scorched earth bring out the darker side of Sangiovese. I would give this a year or two in bottle, as it is quite imposing today. Impressive.
