Four years in barrel for this Cannubi Riserva from the exceptional 2015 vintage. Medium intensity colour, vibrant cherry red, curling woodsmoke and leather, plenty of energy through the palate. A mouthwatering, totally charming wine that is at a delicous moment to drink, perfect for food with those fresh acidities but still with density to the structure. Signature Barolo on the edge of maturity, clear mandarin and saffran, finishing with liqourice, butterscotch and silk. First time with the Place. Simone Borsari winemaker,

From a warm and sunny vintage, the Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2015 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is beautifully elegant and fine. This is an impressive effort that stands apart, thanks to the integrity and freshness of the fruit. Some Riservas from this vintage already taste faded and flat but not this wine. Quite the contrary, this wine shows good energy and tonic freshness.
Leading with vinous aromatics, the 2015 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is noted by baked cherry, cinnamon, worn leather, and turned earth. Ripe fruit up front tightens into a coiled structure on the mid-palate and finish, with pomegranate seed, cedar, and dried leaves. Hold or drink 2022-2040. Established in 1897 by Francesco Borgogno, this estate is situated on the esteemed hill of Cannubi, where they have approximately 15 hectares of vineyard land.
The 2015 Barolo Cannubi is dark and thick with raw fruit aromas of blackberry, ripe cherry, plum and dark currant. You don't usually get so much rich fruit intensity with the Cannubi cru, but this vintage delivers it in droves. The wine is soft in terms of mouthfeel, with loosely knit texture and integrated tannins. Some 15,000 bottles were made.
