2007 Tenuta di Castiglioni Toscana Rosso

The estate’s 2007 Tenuta di Castiglioni is superb. Dark red fruit, leather, licorice and grilled herbs are some of the notes that emerge from this medium to full-bodied, plump red. The 2007 is much richer and deeper than the 2008. In fact, the 2007 is a clear overachiever in this vintage. Tenuta di Castiglioni is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Sangiovese. The international varieties work especially well here. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2015.
