The 2016 Pommard Les Grands Epenots 1er Cru comes from 30-year old vines. The inclusion of 50% whole cluster gives the Grands Epenots a clean, fresh, earthy bouquet with touches of damp moss/undergrowth. The palate is supple with lithe tannins that frame a core of red fruit, harmonious and poised with decent length on the finish. Give this Pommard another year in bottle.
