The Fattoria del Pino 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a simple wine that opens to fresh berry, blue flower and baking spice fragrances. The wine sports a dark and richly concentrated color and good aromatic intensity. With time, the bouquet loses some of its focus, but it stays true to the characteristic tones you should expect from Sangiovese. The mouthfeel is tart, crisp and slightly bitter.

Just mid ruby. Brooding garden herb and raspberry and rhubarb nose. Quite sweet fruit and yet with plenty of acidity. A little facile but not without charm. (WS)
