The 2014 Saint-Romain Le Jarron has an earthy bouquet that just lacks a little fruit concentration. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant fatness, but it is very simple and lacks complexity and personality on the finish. Drink now. Tasted at Flint Wines' Value Burgundy tasting.

Fully mature fruit plus the Deux Montille slightly severe style equals refreshing white burgundy without that much depth but it's certainly clean. (JR)
(12.3% alcohol): Reticent, slightly diffuse aromas of apple and oak spices. Conveys good energy but only modest concentration and nuance. Finishes lean and slightly dry, with edgy lemony acidity.
Lower elevation than most, facing south and some limestone. Lots of large barrels. Perfumed nose. Quite good weight. Juicy and likely to be GV. Long and much richer than most St-Romains. (JR)
