Note di degustazione
The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles Grand Cru does not convey the same clarity on the nose as others; just a touch of botrytis, perhaps? The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed entry, fine acidity, weight and concentration and a saline finish. I appreciate the cohesion and presence of this Chevalier-Montrachet, and although initially I found more nobility in Bouchard’s Chevalier, this one’s authoritativeness wins you over. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles Grand Cru has a very precise, quite intense bouquet of apple blossom, struck flint and a light smokiness coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. This is a pretty Chevalier-Montrachet, offering touches of apricot and quince and quite persistent in the mouth, revealing a subtle stem ginger note toward the finish. Superb. (DIAM GC closure)
The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is very serious indeed, unfurling in the glass with notes of yellow citrus fruits and white flowers that mingle with hints of crushed chalk, framed by smoky new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with searing concentration, chewy dry extract and bright acids, concluding with a long, authoritative finish. This powerful and structured Chevalier will require some bottle age.
Cask sample. Refined and zesty. Lovely fresh acidity plus weight. Great race and richness. Much more interesting than the Bâtard! Long and impressive. Juicy fruit with a green streak. (JR)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
