Note di degustazione
The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie 1er Cru has quite a feisty, spicy bouquet that maybe lacks just a little refinement. The palate has a lot of extract, lightly spiced, waxy in style but it seems to communicate more the winemaking than the terroir, at least at the moment. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

Bursting with aromas of ripe citrus, pear and mint that are framed by a deft touch of oak, Moreau's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and precise. Racier than the more enveloping Chenevottes, it's also more tender and charming than the incisive Vergers.
Just opposite the domaine. Tank sample, still on lees. Much tighter on the nose than the Chenevottes. Plenty of citrus but more mineral in aroma. The merest hint of spice. Tight and yet with a lovely creamy texture. Great precision allied to generosity. A lovely citrus mouth-watering finish. Pulls in on the finish with precision and freshness. Juicy and intense at the same time. (JH)
