2005 Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard Clos Micault 1er Cru

The 2005 Pommard 1er Cru Clos Micault is not a wine you see often, but readers will know that I am a huge fan of Jean-Pierre Charlot's wines. It has a vibrant red berry nose with pastille-like purity, a Pommard that fancies being a Volnay! The palate is fruit-forward, playful and pure with tart red cherries and a medicinal touch on the finish. What it lacks in complexity it compensates in sheer joie-de-vivre. Enjoy this Pommard over the next decade. Tasted June 2015.
