Pale, bright yellow. Ripe aromas of peach and orange zest are at once mellow and fresh. Silky and glyceral on entry, then fine-grained and energetic in the middle, offering a felicitous combination of brisk soft citrus fruit and minerals. Finishes dry and classic, with a firm stony underpinning.

The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres has a very perfumed bouquet with heady scents of citrus lemon, orange zest, dried mango and white peach. It becomes more and more intense with each swirl. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity. It does not quite build on the promise of the nose like some other Genevrieres ‘13s tasted during my trip, although there is an attractive lemongrass note lingering on the aftertaste.
Subdued aromas of tangerine, white pepper and crushed stone. Quite dry and classic; leaner in its texture than the Charmes, showing more dominant citrus and mineral elements. Almost aggressively tight today, with stone and citrus notes joined by a whiff of sultana raisin on the aftertaste.
