2005 Genium Costers Vi de Guarda

The 2005 Genium Cellers Costers is sourced from the winery’s steepest and oldest vineyards. Composed of 50% Carinena, 25% Garnacha, 15% Merlot, and 10% Syrah, the wine was aged for 12-14 months in new French oak and bottled unfiltered. Inky purple-hued, the nose reveals lots of mineral, earth, and pencil lead as well as fragrant notes of blueberry and black cherry. This leads to a full-bodied, muscular wine with a powerful personality, gobs of layered fruit, enough tannin to support 5-7 years of additional cellaring, terrific intensity, and a very long finish.
