Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2020-2027, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2015

Deep, spicy aromas of musky peach and smoky vanillin oak. Tactile, sappy and concentrated, with saline stony minerality intensifying the peach and clove flavors. Classically balanced wine, especially impressive for the year. Boyer made almost 35 hectoliters per hectare, which he described as "not bad for the vintage."

The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is bridled with an attractive bouquet with delineated scents of apricot blossom, warm gravel and yellow flowers – all very pretty and feminine. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a keen line of acidity. There is plenty of tension on the finish that bodes well for the future. This is one of Yves’s best 2013s and is worth looking out for.

(Boyer ages his top premier crus in one-third new oak): Musky yellow peach, lemon, vanilla and stone on the pure nose. Refined and subtly perfumed, showing captivating floral lift to the stone and citrus fruit flavors. Finishes pure, aromatic and long, with underlying minerality contributing to the wine's light touch. This is wonderfully scented today and my sentimental favorite among Boyer's 2013s at this early stage.
