Pale straw-yellow. Very ripe, almost biscuity scents of yellow peach, pineapple and spices. Round, fat, sweet and rich; an almost oily, immediately accessible Charmes with mouthfilling stone fruit and grilled nut flavors but modest acidity and spine. I'd enjoy this fruit bomb over the next three or four years. This wine was ripe and easygoing from barrel a year ago and seems rather evolved and a bit high-toned for premier cru, lacking real nerve and tension. I doubt I'd be able to pick it blind as Meursault; I might guess New World.

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes has a clean, precise and relatively spicy bouquet, not as immediate as other 2015s from Yves Boyer-Martenot, but repaying a minute or two aeration in the glass. The palate is well balanced with good acidity, not as complex as some Meursault Charmes that I have encountered, yet with good tension and a harmonious, white pepper-tinged finish that lingers in the mouth.
Aromas of orange blossom and yellow peach. A sweet, pliant, easygoing fruit bomb in the mouth but with sound framing acidity. Finishes suave and persistent.
