Note di degustazione
The deep purple-colored 2015 Syrah Quarzo is another gem from Amador County. It’s a ripe, medium to full-bodied effort that has lots of classic Syrah pepper and meatiness as well as subtle purple iris flower, violets, and crushed rock minerality. It will be even better with another year or three in the cellar and keep for a decade.

Favia's 2015 Quarzo (Syrah) is deep and richly textured from start to finish. Inky blue/black fruit, spice and a touch of whole cluster nuance meld together in a supple, wonderfully inviting wine. This is an especially powerful style for Amador County, and yet it all works.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Quarzo Syrah (100% Syrah) has quite an earthy, savory nose of smoked meats, fungi, black pepper and chargrill with a core of warm black plums, blackberry compote and licorice plus a touch of charcoal. Full-bodied and firm, with beautifully rounded tannins, it has a wonderfully generous core and loads of layers, finishing long and spicy. Serious stuff! 289 cases produced.
