Barolo. Bright red. Very light nose with a suggestion of sweetness but not much else at this stage. Candy on the front palate and a bit of a lack of concentration without compensating delicacy. Just a tad galumphing. (JR)

Only mid ruby with orange tinges. Ethereal, fascinating nose with a minty edge to it. Elegance and concentration. Real cru pedigree. (WS)
Chiara Boschis has produced an admirable 2011 Barolo Cannubi that offers deep richness and plush layers that you don't often get with this single-vineyard. The vintner has done a terrific job of portraying the muscular vintage against the feminine vineyard site. Barolo Cannubi opens to dark fruit, dry earth and spice. Yet, it remains breezy and airy, nonetheless, with an elegant and buoyant personality. Pretty menthol notes appear on the close. Farming is organic and this wine is aged in barrique and botte grande in equal parts.
Mid ruby. Heady nose. Richly rosy palate entry with a hint of herbs. It really does taste of wild flowers in a biodynamics way. A way-out wine! GV (JR)
