Note di degustazione
The 2020 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a stricter and more traditional Chablis bouquet. There's a patina of new oak to be absorbed, but there is plenty of fruit to do that. Fine delineation. The palate is well-balanced with much concentration. This is a sunny Montée de Tonnerre, and there is a lot of new oak to wade through. But it is seductive in that sense with its vanilla finish, and if that oak can be absorbed, it will be a fine Chablis. One to cellar four or five years as I feel this has shut down at the moment. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is a particular success this year, delivering aromas of pear and peach mingled with notions of nutmeg, freshly baked bread, white flowers and mint. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and multidimensional, it's a satiny, seamless wine with excellent concentration and a long, expansive finish.
Interesting, lightly reduced nose. Then a very confident spread across the palate of pure fruit and wet stones. This should make delicious old bones. GV (JR)
