The 2013 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is in a really good place at the moment. The nose is not immensely powerful, yet displays stunning delineation, excellent mineralité and focus. Traces of orchard fruit develop with time. The palate has a fabulous palate, a very "balletic" Chevalier-Montrachet that dances across the senses with just the right amount of sapidity to urge another sip. Superb. Tasted at Maison de Colombier.

Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a powerful but controlled bouquet with scents of dried honey, brioche and orange blossom, a touch of mineralité tucked just behind. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, lively in the mouth with very impressive weight, retaining superb delineation and focus on the gunflint finish that has more to give, and it will with 4-5 years in bottle. This is sophisticated and entrancing. Tasted May 2016.

Bright yellow. Musky yellow peach, grilled nuts and flinty minerality on the nose. Plush, silky and rich; in fact, downright voluptuous for the year, but with terrific mineral energy to its ripe stone fruit flavors. Finishes tactile and long, with excellent verve. This outstanding wine will reward aging but there's nothing hard about it even today.
