Note di degustazione
The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a beautifully-defined bouquet. Yellow fruit, crushed limestone and hints of liquorice emerge with time. The palate is well balanced, with fine grip and acidity, Japanese plum, ginger and orange pith. There is plenty of substance with sufficient bite on the finish to keep you coming back for more. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos opens in the glass with youthfully reserved notes of citrus oil, fresh bread, pear, peach and praline. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with good texture, cut and structure, it should age gracefully.
The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is more open and engaging on the nose compared with the Les Blanchots. There is slightly more terroir expression here, though I would not claim it superior to some of Laroche’s Premier Crus. The palate is much better, featuring sour lemon, lemon sherbet, sage and dill, quite complex, with a very well-defined and persistent finish. Real Grand Cru on the finish for sure – just cellar this for 3–5 years before broaching.
