This wine has consistently exhibited a great deal of oak and peppery, mineral-scented black currant fruit in its blossoming nose. In the mouth, it exhibits the tannic ferocity that characterizes many 1986s, but is surprisingly lighter than I would have expected. A good effort, but it could use more depth and concentration, particularly if one compares it with the 1982 or 1989. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 4/90.
