Rich and ample on the palate, the 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva shows plenty of vintage 2011 richness and breadth. Dark red and blue stone fruits, leather, cloves and lavender blossom in a generous, resonant Riserva with tons of near and medium term appeal. The 2011 is flashy and extroverted, but also very nicely balanced. This is arguably the best wine in the range.

Opaque deep ruby. Impressive concentration of sweet cherry on the nose. Almost a little jammy. This all stands in sharp contrast with the high acidity, which makes it almost unbalanced. (WS)
