Note di degustazione
Firm tannins support an expressive core of dark red/blue fruits in the 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva. The aromas and flavors are bright, delineated and nuanced. Readers should give the wine another 6-12 months in the cellar for the tannins to soften, but this is already an impressive Chianti that should drink well for another handful of years. Hints of tobacco, underbrush and licorice wrap around the finish.

The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva is an impressive effort with a fine quality of elegant red fruit. This bold Riserva opens with aromas of wet earth, porcino mushroom, leather and a hint of rose petal. It shows soft, chewy tannins that are balanced by lovely acidity. Drink this in two or three more years to let it develop more complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. Importer: Massanois Imports; www.massanois.com
Suspiciously dark, impenetrable violet ruby. Huge, intensely concentrated forest-fruit nose. Pushing all buttons and no holding back. Very dry (oak) tannin on the finish. Is there still a market for this? (WS)
