Note di degustazione
The 2014 Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole is striking. This high-altitude site, with its sandy and rocky soils, yields a perfumed, aromatically expressive Chianti Classico endowed with translucent finesse and energy. Rose petal, lavender, mint and sweet red cherry are nicely pushed forward, but it is the wine's gracious, perfumed personality that stands out most. The 2014 is all finesse.

From a single vineyard in Lamole. Palish crimson. A little stalky on the nose. Burgundian in style on the palate with gorgeous, persistent tannins, mineral raspberry fruit and a perfect dose of acidity. Has inherent class but a tiny bit too light – I suspect this is much lighter than intended – due to the cool and short growing cycle. Can probably age longer, but I would drink this in the next three years for maximum pleasure. (WS)
Made by Giovanni Manetti of Fontodi with his cousin. First vintage. Vines at 620 m (2,034 ft). Light ruby. Subtle red-cherry fruit. Rounded and easy but not simple, has firm but rounded depth and no edges. Dry-textured finish. Subtle. (JH)
