The 2013 Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole is a pretty, gracious wine that shows both the airy personality of this high-altitude site and the lighter style of the vintage overall. Sweet floral notes, red stone fruit, earthiness and silky tannins are some of the signatures. I tasted the 2013 from tank just prior to bottling. The Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole is a new wine Fontodi's Giovanni Manetti is making for his cousin Lorenzo Pisana Socci, whose grandfather was formerly the estate manager at Fontodi and a mentor to Manetti when he was just getting started.

Situata vicino a Panzano in Chianti, la tenuta Fontodi fu acquisita dalla famiglia Manetti nel 1968, che ne ha accresciuto la fama. Oggi è rinomata per il Flaccianello della Pieve, un Sangiovese Super Tuscan in purezza, prodotto per la prima volta nel 1981.
