Made with Cabernet Franc, the Poggio al Tesoro 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Dedicato A Walter (in a very heavy glass bottle) has oak-driven aromas of popcorn and caramel on top of toasted nut, dried fruit, baked plum and baking chocolate. There is a lot going on in terms of mouthfeel and palate. Those oak-driven tones are very pleasant given the richness and the texture that this wine manages so well. Production is 10,000 bottles.

The 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Dedicato a Walter is gorgeous. Here, the more extracted style works well in bringing out the essence of Cabernet Franc. Dark fruit, leather, smoke, chocolate, tobacco and cloves infuse the 2019 with striking depth. Although quite intense, the 2019 is not at all overdone. It offers terrific depth and plenty of intensity, with all the elements very nicely balanced.
