Note di degustazione
Bright cherry red. Hidden nose with some real texture here. Marked acidity and less obviously tannic than many Pommards. Wait! (JR)

Silky, spicy palate, fair bit of tannins coating the finish. Closed but balanced, and with attractive, stylish fruit. (RH)
The 2010 Pommard Combes-Dessus is wonderfully juicy in its expressive red fruit. This is perhaps the most supple, forward and engaging of the domaine’s 2010s at this stage, which isn’t entirely surprising. Accordingly, the wine should drink nicely right out of the gate. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2025. The 2010s from Marquis d’Angerville are stellar. They are the product of a year that saw yields lowered by 40-50% on average. It was quite a shock to see the domain’s cellars with so few barrels in them. As always, the wines were made with fully de-stemmed fruit. I will report on the 2009s in the April issue.
