Note di degustazione
The 2009 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir has an upfront, quite extravagant bouquet, the oak neatly subsumed in the intervening years, although I do find more delineation on more recent vintages. The palate is smooth and slightly creamy on the entry. There is low acidity and the wine is soft and rounded but perhaps needing more delineation on the finish. Drink now and over the next three or four years.

The 2009 Chablis Vaudésir is surprisingly unexpressive and muted next to the rest of the estate's 2009s. The oak seems to have marked the Vaudésir significantly, flattening many of the nuances.
Bright yellow with a gold tinge. White flowers, peach and lemon drop on the nose. Firmly built but less generous than the other 2009s here. There's a hint of dusty stone but not the obvious minerality of the other grand crus, but then these vines are just ten years old. Finishes with a spicy quality. Half of this wine was aged in barriques , none of which were new. This should offer early appeal.
Intense but delicately herbal citrus. Dusty wet stones. Then surprisingly rich on the palate. Broader than the Vaillons above, riper. Very long.(JH)
