The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, which is a relatively new contract for Drouhin having incepted around three years ago, has a struck flint, limestone bouquet that offers sea spray/marine scents with time. The palate is very well balanced with superb energy, vibrant and tensile, with a lovely saline finish. Watch out for this once in bottle, because it has tons of potential, but may surpass the Les Perrières in the long-term.
Sample. A long term contract. Old vines. Honey and herbs on the nose – very Genevrières. Long, tense and lemony. Polished tannins. Long. Better than serviceable, though not mind-blowing. (JR)
