2022 Marsannay Les Grasses Tetes

The most serious of these four cuvées is the 2022 Marsannay Les Grasses Têtes, a medium- to full-bodied, lively and concentrated wine evocative of blackberries, plums and dark chocolate. More primary at this stage of its élevage, it shows considerable promise.

Redolent of fig and black plum fruit aromas with a firmly mineral depth and a savoury edge, the 2022 Grasses Tetes from Bruno Clair boasts a texture that is dense and concentrated and among the most powerful single-climat wines in this cellar. The grapes come from several parcels of old vines that total 2.27 hectares scattered throughout the vineyard. More than 30% of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters, yet the wine retains a marvellous purity of fruit — superb.
