Made with 100% Merlot, the 2021 Poggio ai Merli opens to dark concentration and rich texture with nicely focused aromas of black cherry, sweet smoke, baking spice, dried mint and pipe tobacco. The wine comes off as linear and layered in this vintage, peeling back to more dark fruit aromas as it opens carefully in the glass. The tannins are soft and accessible. This is a release of 4,000 bottles.

The 2021 Poggio ai Merli (Merlot) is a rich, heady wine. A blast of dark fruit, leather, licorice, menthol and mocha saturates the palate. This inky, full-throttle Merlot offers fine balance and tons of sheer appeal. The 2021 is an especially fine edition.
