2020 Beaune Les Epenotes

The 2020 Beaune les Epenottes 1er Cru includes 20% whole bunch with 40% new oak. Quite dense and powerful on the nose, this delivers layers of red cherries, crushed strawberry and veins of cassis, just a light touch of espresso. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, fine depth, a gutsy Beaune Epenottes with a liberally sprinkling of black pepper on the finish. Fine, but it will require 3-5 years in bottle.
