Note di degustazione
Characteristic of her 2022s, pure luscious black fruit is apparent, supplemented by an alluring floral component. The tannins are sturdier yet still supple and unobtrusive. There’s an uncommon elegance here. Dare I say, a charming Pommard. Les Chaponnières sits on the Volnay side, but near the village of Pommard itself, tucked in between Les Croix Noires and Les Rugiens. A portion of Parent’s vines were planted in 1929.

The 2022 Pommard Les Chaponnières 1er Cru contains 30% whole bunches and was raised in 40% new French oak. The nose offers brambly red fruit, hints of graphite and an endearing sense of Pinoté; this is more elegant than the Chanlins. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins and fresh acidity. Again, a little powdery in texture with a long tail on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle.
