Note di degustazione
Although it takes a little while to build momentum, the 2011 Brunello di Montalcino reveals fine lines and a subdued character. The wine is a little underplayed in this vintage especially considering the greater power and heft we got with the iconic 2010 vintage. This expression of Sangiovese opens to a luminous ruby color and light aromas of delicate wild berry, blue flower and tilled earth. The mouthfeel shows medium density and silky tannins.

Nardi's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is laced with bright red cherry, raspberry, flowers and gently spiced notes, all of which give the wine much of its sensual, delicate personality. I would prefer to drink the 2011 sooner rather than later, while the flavors retain the brightness that makes the wine so appealing today.
Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Reluctant nose that is more herbal than fruity. Sweet palate with hints of rhubarb, but lacking in depth and expression. Overall a little simple and with stalky tannins. (WS)
