The 2012 Chianti Classico is superb. Bright red-toned fruit, spices, anise and leather grace the palate in an absolutely exquisite, vibrant wine endowed with superb texture, finesse and personality. The 2012 isn't a blockbuster, but it is super-refined and a real standout for the year. Dollops of Canaiolo and Colorino round out the blend.

Just mid crimson. Leafy, herbal cherry. Tart acidity matched by sweet, lively cherry fruit. Good length too. Well made, if a little jammy on the finish. (WS)
