The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet of lemon verbena, hazelnut and crushed stone aromas; there is impressive focus here. The palate is well balanced, though for me it feels slightly over-oaked on the entry, and that masks the terroir expression vis-à-vis the Vaudésir. It’s a fine drop of Chablis, but I hope that bottle age reveals more personality and makes it less generic.

Bursting from the glass with aromas of pear, nutmeg, beeswax, orange and fresh pastry, the 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos is medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, with good concentration, lively acids and a charming, demonstrative personality.
Savoury nose. Smoky, rich and dense on the palate. A real depth of fruit, building with green apple, yellow fruit and ripe pear. The creaminess towards the finish adds generosity and length. Supple, savoury and fine. (TP)
The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a terrific core of fruit, and while not fully formed, it shows good depth and plenty of structure. All the natural radiance of the year comes through loud and clear. The oak really needs to integrate here.
