Note di degustazione
Aside from the Barbaresco Crichet, the 2018 Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti is my favorite of these 2018s from Roagna. It displays the elements of the wines from younger vines and intensifies them, with notes of preserved strawberries and raspberries, dewy earth, fresh herbs, sweet flowers, and wet stones. It’s powerful on the palate without weight, offering ripe fruit, savory mineral and salty earth notes, and terrific, ripe structure. It’s long on the palate, revealing notes of dried apricot and spice. Drink 2026-2050.

The 2018 Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti is hauntingly beautiful. Sweet dried red cherry, mint, sweet pipe tobacco, white pepper, orange peel, cinnamon, spicecake. This ethereal, light to medium-bodied Barolo is incredibly beguiling and distinctive. It's a classic Roagna wine and a fabulous effort in this very challenging year.
Informazioni sul produttore

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
