The 2023 Santenay Clos des Gravières Blanc was picked early on August 30. This is overtly stony and intense on the nose, erring towards Puligny-Montrachet in style. Quite austere at first, it really finds its voice with aeration. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a fine bead of acidity, a little fatness on the mid-palate but perhaps not quite as mineral-driven as its peers towards the finish. Still a delicious white Santenay.
