Full bottle 1,388 g. A blend of grapes from Les Clous and Les Crotots vineyards, hence the name. Vinified in stainless-steel before a short period of ageing in barrels. Winemaker Patrick Javillier. Vegan. RS <1 g/l. Available in 8 stores. Nutty, rich and fleshy Meursault. Forward and generous in 2023. Just lacks a bit of depth and concentration given the lofty price tag. Very pricey for burgundian Chardonnay (in Tesco) but I guess this represents today’s reality. Possibly not for extended keeping. (AWH)

Two parcels, no new oak. Smells richer and creamier than the Cuvée Oligocène. Fuller in the mouth, lightly grainy and so much freshness. Long, with a touch of spice on the finish. Complete, incipient complexity. GV (JH)
The 2023 Meursault Les Clousots has a backward nose of crushed stone and shucked oyster shells, perhaps in need of a little more vigour. The palate is fresh on the entry with apricot and a touch of peach skin on the front palate, though it just drifts a bit towards the finish. At the moment, I actually err towards the Cuvée Oligocène.
