Note di degustazione
The 2023 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of blackberries and raspberries mingled with orange zest, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, it's suave and enveloping, with a layered core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, perfumed finish.

The 2023 Beaune Les Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus 1er Cru (often just referred to as "Baby Jesus") undergoes around 10% aging in sandstone amphorae. This veers more toward red fruit, with notes of redcurrant and cranberry. There is impressive mineralité and delineation, gaining subtle floral scents with time. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, lovely balance and poise, building toward a slightly fleshier finish compared to Bouchard Père's other Beaune Premiers. Superb.
Richer and deeper purple, with a flamboyant fruit on the nose sitting on top of a gravelly mass. Dark red berries, a sombre summer pudding, with more tannin and less acidity. Enormous possibilities the further back on the palate you go. Quite something in its black fruit style. Young vines from 1996 are still not included in the grand vin.
