The 2023 Beaune Blanc Clos Saint-Landry 1er Cru, a monopole of 1.90 hectares, offers a delineated bouquet with fresh white peach and citrus peel scents that are quite sharp and penetrating. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry and a slightly waxy texture. It is not as complex as the 2022 but has decent length and a bit of stem ginger on the aftertaste. Fine.
This was one of the first Bouchard plots to be managed with biodynamics. I find precision more than opulent fruit on the nose, an electric clarity on the palate, then access to minerals, with lovely detail all the way through, more fresh than creamy as Beaune can be. Beautiful persistence.
