The 2021 Meursault Bouchères 1er Cru is crisp and focused with impressive mineralité and tension, showing more energy than its peers as it unfolds gracefully in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity and assiduous use of new oak, which builds the mid-palate without occluding the terroir expression. Palpable energy comes through on the finish, completing an accomplished Meursault that should age well in bottle. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Boucheres 1er Cru was reduced to two barrels that did not have to be barreled down to the second-year cellar, unlike others. Precise and quite understated on the nose, this offers superb tension with hints of hazelnut and quince. The palate is very well balanced with a lovely edginess and fine depth, yet there is a razor-sharp focus here with a lip-smacking salinity on the finish. This is a live wire Meursault.
The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Bouchères opens in the glass with aromas of pear, Meyer lemon, freshly baked bread and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's racy and seamless, concluding with a long, saline finish.
