Note di degustazione
The 2023 Chablis La Moutonne Grand Cru has fine lift on the nose, showing more mineralité than the Corton- Charlemagne. Its bouquet features citrus fruit notes and light flinty aromas, a little fumé in style. The palate is well balanced with plenty of weight. This is far from a sharp, malic style of Chablis. It is much richer with a slightly honeyed texture. What it lacks in typicité is compensated by the concentration and the welcome dab of spice on the finish. Fine.

Mid lemon in colour. A broader bouquet on the nose compared to Clos, as if Moutonne had thought about moving further south, while declining to abandon its Chablis roots. A suggestion of honeysuckle alongside the marine elements. Very skilfully poised on the palate. Fresh and racy at the finish with good flesh nicely tamed. Impressively persistent. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2024.
