Some still in barrel. Rich purple in colour, with a promising density of velvety fruit on the palate. Good fresh fruit further back on the palate with fine acidity, this finished on a crunchy feel, despite the more than adequate ripeness of the fruit first up.

The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Guettes 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with brambly black fruit, briar and light pencil box scents. The palate is well balanced, the 10% whole bunch imparting discrete pepperiness. It's harmonious and persistent on the finish, opening nicely in the glass. This will be irresistible after bottling-it's very pliant.
