Note di degustazione
The 2014 Esprit de Pavie has a fulsome bouquet with plenty of red plum and wild strawberry aromas, the oak neatly integrated with just a touch of sandalwood developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin. It feels firm in the mouth, very classic in style but it falls off a cliff on the finish and vanishes as if it had done something wrong.

The 2014 Esprit de Pavie was mostly sourced from the Perse family's holdings in Côtes de Castillon, plus young-vine and declassified fruit from the properties in Saint-Émilion. Plump, juicy and expressive, the Esprit is a pretty red to drink now and over the next few years, while the dark red cherry and plum flavors retain their youthful exuberance.
Castillon and St-Émilion grapes. 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Average yield 28 hl/ha. Sweet, seductive, round and thick and malty. A bit of acid on the end. But very silky and well made. Just a little sudden on the end and not that refreshing but all stops have been pulled out! (JR)
