2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières

Note di degustazione
This south-facing four-hectare vineyard is on a gentle slope with clay and limestone soils ripens late, generally producing a more delicate style of Savigny. The 2023 has the site’s trademark floral aromatics, with a very pretty but dark-fruited nose. The palate is deliciously sweet, yet framed by chalky, fine tannins. It feels so full of joie de vivre – a vibrant wine of lovely finesse and purity, without lacking any density to back this up in the long term. A delicious wine that will be endlessly rewarding.

The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières is lovely, bursting with aromas of sweet berries, licorice and violets, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety and succulent palate built around sweet, powdery tannins.
The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru, which was picked a little later than normal, has a more floral bouquet than the Beaune Premier Crus: peony-tinged red fruit, a touch of orange rind and chalk. The palate is well balanced with quite "bony" tannins. This is a spicier Savigny, with a liberal sprinkling of cracked black pepper on the finish. Drink over eight to ten years.
The Savigny Lavières starts out with an invigorating fresh purple colour, with a delicious raspberry fruit. Much purer than the Clos du Château seems today. Slightly earthy at the finish, which is very long.
