2023 Volnay

The 2023 Volnay Village includes 50% whole bunch (previous vintages were destemmed). It has a bright nose with red plum and cranberry fruit—perhaps the stems do share the aromatics a little too successfully. The palate is medium-bodied with a peppery entry, again, quite stemmy. I'm not certain there is sufficient fruit to soak that up in the long term. We will see.
