Note di degustazione
(Camille-Giroud works with purchased grapes from three parcels; made with 15% whole clusters): Good dark red. Dark berries, licorice and minerals on the nose, plus a whiff of meat. Tactile and chewy but rather backward for village wine, showing a lightly medicinal quality and harmonious framing acidity to its dark fruit flavors. Finishes with dusty tannins, good length, and a touch of peppery herbs.

The 2014 Volnay Village Cru comes from Les Grand Champs on the Pommard side and the bottom part of Lurets. The nose was missing a little fruit intensity here, just showing a bit of inertia. The palate is medium-bodied with red cherries and strawberry fruit, slightly chalky tannin and Pommard-like, and I think it benefits from the 25% whole cluster fruit.
